No sign of any tropical cyclone in next few days

-

MANILA, Philippines – The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said yesterday there was no sighting of any tropical cyclone entering the Philippine area of responsibility in the next few days.

“The rains that we would be experiencing in the afternoons and evenings are only isolated rainshowers and thunderstorms,” Pagasa weather forecaster Joel Jesusa said.

In the 5 p.m. weather forecast released yesterday, Pagasa said that the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) would be affecting Mindanao.

There would be light to moderate southwesterly surface wind flow prevailing over the Western section of Luzon, the weather bureau said.

The western section of Northern Luzon and Mindanao is also expected to experience mostly cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms today.

The rest of the country would be partly cloudy with isolated rainshowers and thunderstorms mostly in the afternoon or evening.

Light to moderate wind blowing from the southwest would prevail over the western section of Luzon and coming from the east and southeast over the rest of the country.

Coastal waters throughout the archipelago will be slight to moderate except during thunderstorms. – Evelyn Macairan
