MANILA, Philippines – Dr. Vicki Belo has been included in the Bureau of Immigration’s watchlist, which means that she would not be allowed to leave the country without getting permission from the Department of Justice (DOJ).
BI Commissioner Marcelino Libanan said that Belo, along with Erick Johnson Chua, Dr. Mark “Bistek” Rosario and Princess Marie Velasco, have been placed in the agency’s watchlist since 5 p.m. of Tuesday.
Copies of the watchlist have been disseminated to the different BI offices in airports and seaports in the country.
This was in compliance with the directive of newly installed DOJ Secretary Agnes Devanadera to the BI with the condition that the 60-day time frame may be terminated earlier or extended, if necessary.
“So long as they are in our watchlist, they will not be allowed to leave the country unless they have a clearance from the Department of Justice (DOJ),” said BI spokesman Atty. Floro Balato Jr. in a statement.
The issuance of the BI watchlist was to ensure that they would remain in the country while the DOJ’s Task Force on Violation Against Women and Children is still conducting its preliminary investigation on the controversial sex video of actress and model Katrina Halili and Belo’s former boyfriend Dr. Hayden Kho.
The investigation seeks to identify the personalities responsible for circulating the sex videos of Dr. Kho with several women to the public so they could be charged with violating the law on violence against women and children.
Chua alleged that Belo has possession of the hard disc copy of the sex videos and was responsible for circulating it.
