Low-pressure area spotted off Mindanao

MANILA, Philippines - A low pressure area (LPA) is expected to bring scattered rains over the Bicol region, the Visayas and Mindanao in the next five days, the weather bureau said yesterday.

As of 2 p.m. yesterday, the LPA was spotted at 110 kilometers east of southern Mindanao, embedded along the intertropical convergence zone.

Nonoy About, weather forecaster of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa), said Bicol, the Visayas and Mindanao will have mostly cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms. – Helen Flores
