Crime reporting via email launched

-

MANILA, Philippines - Here in Sta. Barbara, Pangasinan, people can now report crimes via the Internet.

Sta. Barbara police chief Superintendent Eric Noble said the public can send their complaints to the police via its email address [email protected].

“Most people these days, especially the youth are used to doing all sorts of things via email. Here in our town, victims of crime can report incidents to the police through email,” Noble said.

“People would also be able to email pictures that could help the police in their investigation.”

The service will allow people to report crimes from their computer instead of calling Sta. Barbara PNP’s PLDT number +63-75-6531044. However, email service will not replace the phone number for those who need immediate help, report serious crimes or who want to speak to someone.

The e-communication scheme is in support to the institutional reforms component under systems and methods of the Integrated Transformation Program (ITP). – Cecille Suerte Felipe
