3,000 leaders gather in summit

MANILA, Philippines – The Alliance of Philippine Partners in Enterprise Development, Inc. (APPEND) brings together around 3,000 leaders to Willow Creek’s Global Leadership Summit (GLS) starting today at Christ’s Commission Fellowship (CCF) Auditorium, St. Francis Square, Ortigas Center, Mandaluyong City.

Using state-of-the-art video technology, the two-day event will feature world-class speakers who will tackle cutting-edge leadership principles and issues unique to leaders such as casting vision, motivating others, self-management, team building, managing volunteers, problem solving, decision-making, and much more.

The GLS event, which will be perked up with live music and facilitation created especially for leaders from both churches and business, is a premier leadership development affair via videocast reaching 100,000 leaders in 193 cities and 31 countries.

The Willow Creek Association based in Chicago, USA launched the Leadership Summit in 1995 which found its way to Manila last year through the initiative of APPEND in coordination with Christ’s Commission Fellowship (CCF) and the Philippine Council of Evangelical Churches (PCEC).

APPEND is the first and one of the largest networks of microfinance development institutions in the Philippines. It counts as partner the first microfinance-oriented thrift bank in the country. APPEND has about one million clients mainly poor women in urban and rural communities. Its implementing partners provide microfinance, micro-insurance, business training, education, character-building and other development oriented services to uplift the poor from poverty.
