MANILA, Philippines – The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announced yesterday that 36 percent or 1,514 of 4,174 examinees passed the licensure examination for electronics engineers given earlier this month.
Graduates from the Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP)-Sta. Mesa bagged four of the top 10 slots but the topnotcher was Ferdinand Matuto Sanchez of the Technological Institute of the Philippines-Quezon City (91.10 percent).
Kristoffer Sy Laiz of Ateneo de Naga took second place (90.30), followed by Roy Andrew Manqueria Garcia of Divine Word College of Calapan and Leda Celica Bautista Samin of Wesleyan University-Philippines-Cabanatuan City (both 90.20); Don Joven Ravoy Agravante of University of San Carlos and Kenneth Aldrin Opis Prudencio of PUP-Sta. Mesa (both 90.00) and Jefril Manongsong Amboy of Batangas State University-Batangas City (89.90).
Other outstanding examinees are Rigor Lancion Cabuñag of PUP-Sta. Mesa (89.80), Jason Marc Almirol Alegado of University of San Carlos (89.60); Mark Joseph Bernabe Pe of University of the East-Caloocan (89.00); Edison Dimaala de Lara of PUP-Sta. Mesa and Eleanor Anne Basa Tiglao (88.90) and Chester de Vera Parayno of Saint Louis University and Ryan de Leon Rivera of PUP-Sta. Mesa (88.70).
The examination was given in the cities of Manila, Baguio, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Iloilo and Lucena. – Sheila Crisostomo
