A website enabling Filipino small and medium scale entrepreneurs to showcase and sell their products online is now being set up through a project spearheaded by the Federation of Credit Cooperatives of the Philippines (FCCP).
Rito Fabella, FCCP chairman, said that they have forged a partnership with a local IT firm for the construction of an “online trading platform” wherein all-Filipino products can be showcased and purchased by buyers all over the world through the Internet.
Fabella said that the FCCP, in partnership with ASECNet, Inc., has drawn up an “e-community project” that is envisioned to help Filipino micro, small and medium enterprises or MSMEs that get financial support from the member credit cooperatives of the FCCP to market their products.
Fabella pointed out that FCCP laid out the program after noticing that local MSMEs assisted by their member credit cooperatives are weak in the marketing of their products to local and foreign buyers. – Rainier Allan Ronda
