MANILA, Philippines – Twenty-three senior military officers have been promoted to the next rank upon approval of President Arroyo, the Department of National Defense said yesterday.
In a statement, Defense Secretary Gilberto Teodoro Jr. said Mrs. Arroyo approved the ad interim appointments upon the recommendation of the DND and the AFP Board of Generals.
Appointed to brigadier general in the Army were Col. Manuelito Dahan, AFP Procurement Service commander; Col. Dominador Aquino, Air Force 420th Supply Wing commander; and Col. Joselito Castro, military surgeon general.
Promoted to rear admiral were Navy Captains Oliver Cuevas and Teddy Pan.
Promoted to colonel in the active service were Lieutenant Colonels Reynaldo Ordonez, Demy Tejares, Agapito Carmelo Nagrampa Jr., Paul Pompeo Dario Jr., Casiano Monilla, Samuel Felipe, Jay Tindoy, Jocelyn Turla, of the Medical Corps; Antonio Alinsug from the Dental Service; and Danilo Desuasido from the Corps of Professors.
Appointed colonels from the reserve force were Lieutenant Colonels Jose Matias, Regina Canonizado of the Medical Corps, Leny Zulla, Dionisia Gabay, Vicenta Aquino, all from the Nurse Corps; and Viviencio Valencia Jr., of the Dental Service. – James Mananghaya
