Kris suffers miscarriage

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines – Actress and television host Kris Aquino, youngest daughter of former President Corazon Aquino, suffered a miscarriage yesterday, a day after she made an announcement that her mother is stricken with colon cancer.

A report on www.abs-cbnnews.com said that Aquino confirmed the news through a text message to entertainment columnist and television host Cristy Fermin.

“I had a miscarriage. Collapsed gestational sac and blighted ovum.  We just have to wait for my body to expel on its own. Seven and half weeks,” Aquino texted to Fermin. “God’s will so I can take care of my mom. Just came from Dr. Pastorfide with my mom now. On our way home from the hospital.”

Aquino earlier confirmed that she was pregnant with her second child by her husband, star cager James Yap.

She announced her pregnancy during the taping of her game show, “Wheel of Fortune,” inside the ABS-CBN compound, saying that her gynecologist told her that there were already heartbeats heard during the Doppler Test.

Aquino has two children – Joshua, with her former live-in partner actor Philip Salvador, and James, by Yap.

Last Monday, Aquino, together with her brother Sen. Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III, announced on television that their mother has been diagnosed with cancer of the colon.

She said their family is heartbroken with the news of their mother’s illness but vowed to provide her with all the support, love and care that she needs.

The Aquino family also appealed for privacy and prayers as they cope with their mother’s sickness.
