The Music Admiration Society represented by its chairman and executive producer Eduardo H. Yap produced a very successful dinner concert – “Spring Concert, Music from Vienna” for ING Banking at the Makati Shangri-La Hotel.
This Vienna concert, which originated in 1939, has become an annual event every New Year’s day for almost three quarters of a century, uninterrupted even by World War II. The main feature in all the concerts is the universally loved music of the Strauss family and is a tradition throughout the world.
The Music Admiration Society has finally produced its own version in our country and hopes to make this a tradition in the Philippines in the coming years.
“We have invited no less than world famous conductor, Maestro Ruggero Barbieri, who flew in all the way from Bergamo, Italy to lead the orchestra,” Yap announced.
The music for the night included the most popular pieces that emerged in Vienna during the romantic period by Johann Strauss and Franz Lehar.
The elegantly decorated ballroom was filled with ING Private Banking’s special guests who all enjoyed the night of beautiful classical music and gave the orchestra a standing ovation.
