RP bistro king dead at 66

MANILA, Philippines – The man who started the café and bistro culture in the Philippines, Larry J. Cruz, journalist and famous restaurateur, died in Washington yesterday. He was 66.

At the time of his death, he was chairman and CEO of the LJC Consultancy Management Inc., the holding company of all his restaurants: Café Adriatico in Malate, Mall of Asia, Cebu, Eastwood, Gateway; Café Havana in Malate, Greenbelt and the most recent in Guam; Bistro Remedios in Malate; Bollywood in Greenbelt 3; Mojito Bay and Tandoor King in Mall of Asia; Abe in Serendra and Trinoma, and the latest in Greenbelt 5, Fely J. Details of his wake and interment will be announced later.
