DFA to aid kin of Pinoy found dead in Singapore

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines – The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) yesterday vowed to assist the family of a Filipino found dead in an apartment in Singapore.

“Our embassy is in touch with both the wife of victim Bernard Alojado and the Singaporean authorities,” said DFA spokesman Claro Cristobal.

Alojado was reportedly found dead last Saturday morning in an apartment where he stayed with three other Filipinos.

Cristobal also said the government will coordinate with Singaporean authorities, especially on reports that the victim could have been murdered. “Our embassy will provide assistance to the victim’s family and in the investigation of the case.”

Cristobal said it is still unclear what caused Alojado’s death. – Reinir Padua
