Leviste rushed to Makati Hospital

-
Former Batangas Gov. Jose Antonio Leviste, who is being detained without bail for murder, was rushed to a hospital in Makati City last night due to low blood pressure.

In a telephone interview, Leviste’s lawyer Henry Capela said Leviste was taken to the Makati Medical Center at around 6 p.m. yesterday, but could not give further details about the condition of the ex-governor.

"All I can say is that he is still there" Capela said.

Reports from GMA-7 showed that Leviste was taken by jail guards of the Makati City Jail to the hospital after his blood pressure went down to 90 over 60.

Leviste is being detained at the Makati City Jail for shooting dead his long-time aide, Rafael de las Alas.

Last Feb. 13, Makati Judge Elmo Alameda granted Leviste’s motion and deferred his arraignment for 30 days. – Jose Rodel Clapano
