Team Unity Builds camaraderie

Unlike the Genuine Opposition (GO), Team Unity claims its members are now building "camaraderie and friendship" as the campaign for the May elections heats up.
Re-electionist Sen. Edgardo Angara said there might have been "birth pangs" among the members of Team Unity, but they have already outgrown these initial hitches.
"This is something that you cannot expect from the other side (Genuine Opposition)," he said.
Angara said "there will always be problems but it’s only 10 days into the campaign. Now that we are constantly together, the bonding is working to establish camaraderie among us."
Last Wednesday, Angara said they worked together the whole day for their political advertisement shot at Villa Escudero in Quezon.
Team Unity spokesman Ace Durano said Team Unity would rely on this synergy within the group and the wide network of local support being enjoyed by the administration to win in the coming elections.
"We are developing this synergy more, not the individual winnability. They are campaigning together so each member could be pulled up," he said.
Lack of funds and coordination is reportedly hampering the campaign sorties of the opposition. The GO also cannot seem to have its candidates gather in one place – even during today’s proclamation rally at Plaza Miranda in Quiapo, Manila – because of conflicting schedules.
Senate Majority Leader Francis Pangilinan also announced he would not be joining GO’s proclamation rally because he was only named a guest and not an official candidate.
Durano said he would rather not comment on Pangilinan’s decision.
"We are too busy with our own strategy to be concerned with the concerns of the opposition," he said.
Durano said Team Unity will gun for a 12-0 win in the Senate and continue to build on the same vision and goals that brought the candidates of the administration together.
He said though the candidates of the Team Unity came from different sectors and political affiliations, they understand that they have to promote whatever would be good for the country.
