PNP, NBI chiefs off to Interpol meet in Brazil

Philippine National Police chief Director General Oscar Calderon and National Bureau of Investigation Director Nestor Mantaring flew to Brazil yesterday to attend the 75th General Assembly of the Interpol.

Law enforcers from at least 184 countries will discuss at the conference ways to further strengthen measures on anti-terrorism and other transnational crimes.

Joining Calderon and Mantaring are other top police and NBI officials.

The 75th Interpol General Assembly, whose theme is "Combating International Crime and Terrorism," will be held from Sept. 19 to 22 at the Copacabana Fort in Praça Coronel Eugênio Franco, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
