Kung fu superstar Jackie Chan will fly to the Philippines to drum up investors interest for a coffee shop that he plans to open in Manila, an advertising executive said yesterday.
"Its for a road show to get investors for the Jackie Chans Java Coffee," said Arlene Alano of Campaigns and Grey, an agency that handles advertisement for the shop.
Alano said Chan will arrive for a one-day visit Friday to announce details of his new coffee shop chain before the media and prospective Filipino investors.
Chan said last year moviemaking was still his biggest priority and greatest source of income despite an expanding business empire that includes a clothing label, fitness clubs, restaurants and a line of cookies.
He operates restaurants under his name and has teamed up with the California Fitness gym chain.
Alano said it was the first time that Chan will be going into the coffee shop business. AP
