SINGAPORE (AFP) A Filipina maid arrested in Singapore in connection with the death of a compatriot has been released on bail, police said Tuesday.
"She has been released on bail pending ongoing investigations," police spokeswoman Sandra Yip told Agence France Presse.
The maid, whose name was not disclosed by police, was arrested Friday after a fellow Filipina with whom she had a dispute was found dead at the bottom of a highrise apartment block after an apparent fall.
The two women had been overheard arguing outside a flat on the 18th floor before the incident.
On May 29, Filipina maid Guen Aguilar was sentenced to 10 years imprisonment for the killing of fellow domestic worker Jane La Puebla, whose body was chopped to pieces.
Aguilar escaped the death penalty after the charge was reduced to culpable homicide not amounting to murder due to her mental state when she committed the crime last September.
