Charges filed vs Misuari loyalists

-
The Philippine National Police (PNP) filed murder charges yesterday against four leaders of a renegade faction of the Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) for the attack on a military camp in Panamao, Sulu last month.

The charges lodged against Abir Malik, Basuri Talilani, Julhambri Misuari — a relative of detained MNLF chairman Nur Misuari — and Majik Halaw Mulawi were filed before the Department of Justice and include frustrated murder and attempted murder, according to Police Director Vidal Querol, commander of the PNP Task Force Western Mindanao.

Several other unidentified members of supposed loyalists of Misuari were charged.

A soldier was killed while nine others were wounded when the suspects allegedly staged the raid on the Army camp in Barangay Siet in Panamao last Feb. 6. The renegades also destroyed property valued at a total of P2 million. — Jose Rodel Clapano
