A man wanted for killing three policemen was shot dead by law enforcers in Quezon City yesterday.
Rizaldy Bueza and his wife were about to board a bus for Batangas near Ali Mall in Cubao at 6:30 p.m. when Central Police District (CPD) intelligence agents caught up with them.
Bueza allegedly resisted arrest and was shot dead by policemen.
His wife, Elena, had earlier been arrestd for drug pushing, but escaped on Feb. 27, when Bueza shot SP01 Vicente de Leon. She is back in CPD custody.
De Leon had been escorting Elena to a hospital for a medical check-up after she complained of body pains and asked to be brought to a hospital for treatment.
As a humanitarian gesture, police allowed her to seek medical treatment.
De Leon had been assigned to CPDs Custodial Command and was designated Elenas police escort.
On their way to the hospital, Elena reportedly asked De Leon if they could pass by her house in Sitio Pajo, Barangay Baesa in Quezon City to pick up some important things.
De Leon agreed but, unknown to him, Bueza was already lying in wait for them.
According to the police report, Bueza shot De Leon at point-blank range as soon as the lawman entered the house. De Leon died on the spot.
A massive manhunt was launched for the couple, who fled immediately after the shooting.
Bueza was allegedly also a suspect in the murders of two other policemen.
