National Security Adviser Roilo Golez is reportedly planning to resign from the Cabinet so he could run for Congress in Parañaque against Mayor Joey Marquez.
The STAR learned that Golez sought yesterday a closed-door meeting with President Arroyo to seek her guidance on his political plans.
Marquez, who is in his last term as Parañaque City mayor, will be running under the ticket of former mayor Pablo Olivarez, who will face actress Alma Moreno, estranged wife of Marquez.
Marquez and Golez will be contesting the congressional seat for the newly created second district of Parañaque. The second district covers the subdivisions of BF Homes, Merville, Better Living, United Parañaque, and Sun Valley. Marichu Villanueva
