No evidence vs old PEA board yet - Tagud

-
Lawyers of Public Estates Authority whistleblower Sulficio Tagud Jr. are trying to determine if the previous board of the PEA had something to do with the allegedly "overpriced" President Diosdado Macapagal Boulevard (PDMB) in Pasay City.

"We’re still looking for evidence. If the evidence shows that the old board could be liable, then we can amend the plunder charges we filed before the Ombudsman," lawyer Leonard de Vera told The STAR in an interview.

PEA chairman Ernest Villareal previously told a Senate Blue Ribbon Committee hearing on the project that he and the PEA directors were not involved in the bidding, award and execution of the original construction agreement, which took place before they assumed office.

Tagud filed plunder charges against the present PEA board for the alleged overprice, but committee chairman Sen. Joker Arroyo found it surprising that Tagud did not include the old board of directors who were the ones who approved the project. Nikko Dizon
