A Bulacan congressman urged President Arroyo yesterday to disband the erstwhile dormant Kabalikat ng Malayang Pilipino (Kampi), the political party she formed in 1998 as the vehicle for her quest for the presidency.
"She should scuttle it, she has no use for it since she has Lakas, the biggest political group in the country," said Rep. Willie Buyson Villarama, who was Mrs. Arroyos chief of staff when she was senator and later vice president.
Villarama, who belongs to Education Secretary Raul Rocos Aksyon Demokratiko, said if the President keeps two parallel political organizations, she could be accused of pursuing a divide-and-rule policy.
Such a situation could also spawn confusion and resentment among Mrs. Arroyos supporters, he added. Jess Diaz
