Henares is consultant on national affairs

President Arroyo named yesterday Hilarion Henares Jr. as one of two presidential consultants on national affairs.
Mrs. Arroyo swore in at Malacañang yesterday Henares, her father Diosdado Macapagal’s economic adviser, and the other presidential consultant, Antonio Oppen.
Mrs. Arroyo also appointed Virgilio Pena as presidential assistant for information and communications technology at the Office of the President.
Also yesterday, Mrs. Arroyo swore into office Bettina Aboitiz, her social secretary.
During the same ceremony, Mrs. Arroyo swore in Mario Galman as ambassador to Laos; Ma. Juanita Elegir-Cueto as commissioner of the Securities and Exchange Commission; and Aurora de Dios as chairwoman of the National Commission on the Role of Filipino Women. – Marichu Villanueva
