Give up House posts, Villars men urged

Supporters of former speaker Manuel Villar Jr. were urged yesterday to give up their House posts to pave the way for a smooth reorganization of the chamber.
Assistant Majority Leader Rodolfo Albano III (LAMP, Isabela) made the appeal in the wake of the decision of Nueva Ecija Rep. Pacifico Fajardo, chairman of the committee on justice, to set the impeachment complaint against Vice President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo for hearing tomorrow.
Fajardo is among the 93 congressmen who supported Villar.
"They should resign from their positions and stop acting as if they still belong to the administration party. They should let the new leadership effect an honest-to-goodness reorganization," Albano said.
He said Villars followers who still hold committee posts should give them up now and not wait to be replaced.
As for Fajardo, he said the Nueva Ecija congressman should now consider himself resigned and just leave Arroyos impeachment case to the new majority. Jess Diaz
