The recent ruling of the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee clearing First Lady Luisa "Loi" Ejercito and her son San Juan Mayor Jinggoy Estrada of alleged misuse of charity funds was a vindication for the First Family.
President Estrada said this yesterday as he reiterated his position that he would never allow any member of his family or any of his relatives to use his office for personal gain.
He stressed that he would readily jail any of his kin who is found guilty of committing illegal acts, especially graft and corruption.
"We will charge all corrupt officials, big and small, especially the big ones. This early I am telling them to think hard. I've said it and will say it again: I will respect no kin, no pal, no friend in my fight against corruption," he said in Filipino.
The Blue Ribbon Committee said the other day that it found no evidence showing any "irregular, unlawful or inordinate diversion" of funds from the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) to the President's office or the projects of the First Lady and her son.
