PAOCTF agents nab 2 Sino shabu importers
Two Chinese nationals were arrested in Quezon City over the weekend by agents of the Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Task Force for possession of two kilos of high-grade shabu.
Suspects Ting Chi Seng, alias Robert Yu; and Wilson Lim were arrested last Friday at about 5 p.m. in a buy-bust operation laid out by PAOCTF agents led by Superintendent John Lopez at the parking lot of a restaurant along Congressional Avenue.
Reports said the suspects were arrested shortly after handing two kilos of shabu worth P4 million to an undercover police agent. Also seized from the suspects were P11,000 in marked money and a green Honda City bearing the conduction sticker 51TNE.
Police said Ting is identified under "Coplan Jackal" as one of the top "level 1" or top importers of shabu from China to the Philippines. "Coplan Jackal" is an intelligence operation being conducted by the PAOCTF to identify and neutralize top importers of shabu into the country.
Both suspects are now detained at the PAOCTF headquarters in Camp Crame pending the filing of drug trafficking charges with the Justice Department.
Last week, agents of the PAOCTF also arrested three officers of the PNP Maritime Group and two civilians for transporting 123 kilos of shabu worth P240 million from Burgos, Ilocos Norte. As a result of the interception, the accused police officers led by a chief inspector, were dismissed from the service. -
