'Hanna' has left the Philippine Area of Responsibility but PAGASA says there will be moderate to heavy monsoon rains in the following areas:

  • Ilocos Region
  • Cordillera Administrative Region
  • Batanes
  • Babuyan Group of Islands
  • Zambales
  • Bataan
  • Occidental Mindoro
  • Northern portions of Palawan (including Calamian Islands)

PAGASA adds light to moderate with intermittent heavy monsoon rains will prevail over Metro Manila, Western Visayas, and the rest of CALABARZON, Central Luzon, and MIMAROPA.

PAGASA lifts Signal No. 1 over the Babuyan Group of Islands as Typhoon Hanna approaches Japan's southern Ryukyu Islands. Signal No. 1, however, remains over Batanes.

"Hanna" is expected to exit the Philippine area of responsibility between late evening today and tomorrow early morning.

PAGASA sasy northern Luzon should prepare for heavy rain because of the storm's outer rainbands.

PAGASA says Signal No. 1 is still up over Batanes and the Babuyan Group of Islands. Typhoon Hanna is expected to exit PAR by Friday afternoon.

At 4 p.m. Wednesday, the center of "Hanna" packs maximum sustained winds of 140 kph and gusts of 170 kph.

"Hanna" has intensified into a typhoon, PAGASA says in its early morning briefing.

The typhoon was 625 km east of Basco, Batanes as of 5 a.m. and has maximum winds of 120 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 150 kph.

'Hanna' has intensified into a severe tropical storm, PAGASA says. 

The storm, which has been almost stationary since Tuesday morning, is 795 kilometers east of Calayan in Cagayan.

Tropical Storm Hanna (Lekima) has maintained strength and is almost stationary 815 kilometers east of Calayan in Cagayan, PAGASA said Tuesday.

In its early morning weather briefing, PAGASA said "Hanna" has maximum winds of 85 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 105 kph.

PAGASA also says a tropical depression and a low pressure area outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility are not likely to affect weather in the country.

PAGASA says Tropical Storm Hanna is seen to intensify into a typhoon by Wednesday and will remain under such category until it exits the Philippine area of responsibility.

It is located at 845 km east of Aparri and is moving west-northwest at 10 kph.

"Hanna" packs maximum sustained winds of 85 kph and gusts of 105 kph.

Tropical Storm Hanna has gained strength and is 875 km east of Tuguegarao City, Cagayan, PAGASA says in its 11 a.m. briefing.

"Hanna" now has maximum sustained winds of up to 85 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 105 kph.

It is still moving north northwest at 15 kph and is "less likely" to make landfall, PAGASA also says, adding "Hanna" can intensify into a Severe Tropical Storm in the next 24 hours.

Tropical Storm Hanna (Lekima) has gained strength, PAGASA says, with the storm now having winds of up to 75 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of 90 kph.

According to PAGASA's early morning weather bulletin, "Hanna" was 945 km east of Tuguegarao City in Cagayan as of 4 a.m. and moving north northwest at 15 kph.

Although the storm has yet to make landfall, it continues to enhance the southwest monsoon or habagat, bringing rain to most of Luzon, PAGASA also says.

Its eye was located at 1,060 east of Tuguegarao City as of 3 p.m.

Tropical Depression Hanna maintains strength and remains less likely to make landfall on any part of the country.

PAGASA warns that moderate to heavy monsoon rains will be experienced over Metro Manila, Pangasinan, Zambales, Bataan, Pampanga, Bulacan, Rizal, Cavite, Batangas, Laguna, Mindoro provinces, northern portions of Palawan (including Calamian and Cuyo Islands), Romblon, Aklan and Antique between today and Tuesday (06 August) morning.

It packs maximum sustained winds of up to 55 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 70 kph. It continues to barrels north-northwestward.

Tropical Depression Hanna is seen to intensify into a tropical storm within 24 hours, PAGASA says in its Sunday morning update.

The eye of "Hanna" was last seen at 1,095 km east of Infanta as of 3 a.m. today.

It is expected to exit the Philippine area of responsibility on Friday, August 9.
