The Ateneo de Manila University says measures are in place to ensure that due process is followed, all parties are heard, and justice is served amid allegations of sexual harassment against three professors of the university.
In a statement, it says it does not tolerate or condone sexual harassment by any member of its community.
"We acknowledge that the burden is on the University to gain the trust and confidence of the community. In the instances where a formal complaint was filed, the University through its Committee on Decorum and Investigation (CODI) conducted the investigation in accordance with the process required by law and our University rules, and imposed the commensurate sanction considering the evidence presented."
"We assure the Ateneo community and the public that we are taking every step possible to ensure that students and employees are safe from sexual harassment."

The Commission on Human Rights reminds school officials to put in mind the children’s present and future life—their general welfare, safety, and development—in carrying out sanctions amid reports that six male students who allegedly circulated lewd photos of female schoolmates online without consent were barred from graduating.
"What is clear, however, is that there is a need for a more defined child protection policy to be in place, which also covers better case management for similar instances," CHR says.
"Article 3 of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, to which the Philippines is a signatory, notes that 'in all actions concerning children, whether undertaken by public or private social welfare institutions, courts of law, administrative authorities or legislative bodies, the best interests of the child shall be a primary consideration.'"
