Chief Justice De Castro retires

The Judicial and Bar Council will open application for chief justice on Saturday, September 29, as Chief Justice Teresita De Castro is set to retire on October 8.

“Deadline for submission of requirements on October 15,” Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra, a member of the council by virtue of his position, says in a message to reporters.

De Castro's term as chief justice is schedueled to last two months, one of the shortest stints in the office.
