United Kingdom Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs James Spencer Cleverly meets with the Philippine Foreign Affairs Secretary Enrique Manalo in Manila to discuss bilateral relations between the UK and the Philippines.
The Department of Foreign Affairs says this is first time since 2016 that a UK foreign minister visited the country.
Cleverly and Manalo met in Jakarta, Indonesia last month.

Cleverly, Secretary of the Foreign, Commonwealth and the Development Affairs of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, is set to meet with Philippine Foreign Affairs Secretary Enrique Manila to discuss the Philippines-UK bilateral relations and exchange views on pressing regional issues.
Asif Ahmad, the former British ambassador to the Philippines, was conferred a rank of companion of the Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, a British order of chivalry, granted by Queen Elizabeth.

A photo of the medal and the programme of the investiture at Buckingham Palace in London that Ahmad posted suggest that the honor was for his "services to the Foreign and Commonwealth Office."
