Female K-pop stars and actors have rushed to issue denials that they appear in sex videos secretly shot by male singers, illustrating women's fears about victim-blaming and stigma in the face of South Korea's enduring conservative social values.

At least four women have issued separate statements denying they appear in the videos, with actor Oh Cho-hee saying on her Instagram account that the rumours were "really not true". — AFP

SM Entertainment reveals that EXO's Kai and BLACKPINK's Jennie broke up already. 

News of their romance was first revealed in a January 1 report by local news tabloid Dispatch, which released photos of the two singers apparently dating at a park and going for a late night drive.

The two have been reportedly in a relationship since October last year.

The agency did not disclose the reason for their split, Soompi reports.

SM Entertainment confirms that EXO's Kai and BLACKPINK's Jennie are officially dating.

A representative from SM Entertainment says, "Kai and Jennie have mutual feelings for each other."

Tickets for BLACKPINK's "In Your Area" Manila leg will be on sale to the public on December 6, MMI Live announced on Friday.

Globe subscribers may avail the tickets earlier during the presale on December 5. Prices range from P2,650 to P19,750.

K-pop sensation EXO is finally back on the scene with its long-awaited fifth studio album, “Don’t Mess Up My Tempo.”

EXO’s fifth album marks the group’s first release since its winter-themed extended play “Universe” and its first full-length effort since fourth studio album “The War” release in July last year.

Last Tuesday, the new album recorded over 1.1 million preorders, making EXO a “quintuple million-seller.”

The group—composed of Xiumin, Suho, Lay, Baekhyun, Chen, Chanyeol, D.O., Kai and Sehun—also released the music video of lead track “Tempo.”

The album also includes songs “Sign,” “Ooh La La La,” “Gravity,” “With You,” “24/7,” “Bad Dream,” “Damage,” “Smile on My Face,” “Oasis” and a Chinese version of “Tempo.”

Filipino Blinks can now say BLACKPINK is in our area, as the girl group is set to visit Manila next year. 

YG Entertainment announces that BLACKPINK will start on its world tour next year, with a Manila leg set on Feb. 2, 2019 at SM Mall of Asia Arena.

BLACKPINK's Jennie, meanwhile, is set to debut as a solo artist. Her single and music video is set to be released on November 12.

South Korean-Chinese boy group EXO reveals details about its long-awaited comeback.

EXO’s fifth studio album titled “Don’t Mess Up My Tempo” will be released on November 2. There will be three versions of the album: "Andante," "Allegro" and "Moderato."

The pre-orders are set to open today.

Chinese member Lay is also announced to participate in the new release.

The group is coming back to Manila on October 28 for the MBC Music Show Champion.

Your favorite K-Pop acts are coming to Manila on October 28 for the MBC Music Show Champion!

All Access Production announces that EXO, Weki Meki, MXM, The Boyz and Hyeongseop x Euiwoong will be coming to Manila for the event.

MBC Music’s Show Champion is a music program that airs every Wednesday. It features live performances, special segments and awards such as “Rookie of the Week.”

Filipino fans can participate in the weekly voting through Youtube and send their votes through the official website.

The event is set at Mall of Asia Arena, 7:00 p.m.

MBC Music Show Champion is presented by MBC and Lumos E&M and AAP.

South Korean sensation BTS drops the final album of their "Love Yourself" series, "Love Yourself: Answer."

The album includes hits "Fake Love," "DNA," and "Mic Drop."

The group — composed of Rap Monster, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V and Jungkook — also released the music video of its latest single "Idol." — Patricia Lourdes Viray

K-pop group iKON is set to visit the Philippines for a concert.

Manila will be one of the stops of the group for the Asian leg of its 2018 Continue Tour, iKON confirms on its social media accounts Monday. The dates of the concerts for the Asian leg, however, are yet to be announced.

The seven-member boy group will kick off the 2018 Continue Tour in Seoul, South Korea on August 18.

iKON, formed in 2016 by YG Entertainment, is known for songs such as B-Day and Love Scenario, which held the most hourly perfect all-kills in music charts with 137 hours. Its members include B.I, Bobby, Jay, Ju-ne, Song, DK and Chan.

Twitter launches a limited-edition emoji for GOT7 in support of the K-pop group’s 2018 Eyes on You world tour.

The special emoji, inspired by the GOT7’s logo, automatically activates when users tweet with the hashtags #GOT7, #???, #EyesOnYou and #GOT7WORLDTOUR. The emoji will be up and running until the group wraps up the tour on August 25.

The world tour kicked off last May 4 in Seoul and will travel to 17 different cities including Bangkok, Paris, Los Angeles, New York, Singapore and Jakarta.

GOT7, formed by JYP Entertainment in 2014, is composed of members Jackson, Jinyoung, JB, Mark, Youngjae, Bambam and Yugyeom. The group is known for hits such as “Hard Carry” and “Just Right.”

YG Entertainment CEO Yang Hyun Suk says that four-piece BLACKPINK, whose debut song of "Boombayah" endeared them to Filipino fans, will release their first album on June 15.

Yang adds, in a story posted on Soompi.com, that boygroups WINNER and iKON will also be releasing new tracks in 2018. Filipino fans have spotted WINNER boys in Palawan this week, although their reason for coming in the country is unclear.

The YG CEO also says that the four older members of BIGBANG—T.O.P, G-dragon, Taeyang and Daesung—will be reunited by end of 2019, after completing their mandatory military enlistment. The group’s maknae, Seungri, is due to enlist after his solo album release.

K-Pop group BTS will debut their new single at the Billboard Music Awards on May 20.

The South Korean septet will be the first ever K-Pop group to perform at the awards show, where they are also nominated for Top Social Artist award.

"We are so excited to be back at the BBMAs and this time we're performing!" the group said in their Instagram post.

Korean boy band BTS reveals the that their next album titled "Love Yourself: Tear" will be released on May 18.

The group made the announcement on April 17 through a message, which includes a reservation purchase guide, in their fan cafe.

The latest studio album is part of the group's "Love Yourself" series. This announcement comes after the K-Pop group released its Japanese "Face Yourself" album.

BTS also won six awards in the Soompi awards including best collaboration for "MIC Drop Remix," best choreography for "DNA," music video of the year for "Spring Day," song of the year "DNA," album of the year "You Never Walk Alone," artist of the year and best idol actor award for V or Kim Taehyung's performance in Hwarang.

South Korean boyband BTS surprised their fans after dropping a nine-minute video teaser of their next album. The Korean septet released a video titled "Euphoria: Theme of Love Yourself Wonder," which appears to be the concept of their upcoming album "Love Yourself: Wonder."

The group has also changed their profile and cover photos on social media.

The release of BTS' "Euphoria" video comes a day after the K-Pop group released its latest Japanese album "Face Yourself" with Japanese versions of their hits "Best of Me," "Blood, Sweat & Tears," "DNA," "Not Today," "MIC Drop," "Go Go," and "Spring Day." Some of South Korea's biggest pop stars fly to North Korea on Saturday for rare performances that highlight the sudden thaw in inter-Korean ties after years of tensions over the North's nuclear ambitions.

The concerts in Pyongyang on Sunday and Tuesday come ahead of a historic summit between North Korean leader Kim Jong Un and South Korean President Moon Jae-in at a border village on April 27. — AP
