US State Secretary Antony Blinken visits a clean energy fair here in Makati and takes part in the signing ceremony for a Philippine offshore wind project study grant.
Speaking at the clean energy event in Makati, the US official states: “The Philippines is especially vulnerable to climate change—typhoons, extreme rainfall, rising temperature… We have to tackle it together and investing in clean energy is one way to do that.”

Press Secretary Trixie Cruz-Angeles says that during the courtesy call of US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken on President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. at the Malacañan Palace, the US official “hailed Filipino nurses in the United States, calling them ‘angels who are caring in so many ways.’”
Other issues discussed were defense and security cooperation, renewable energy, climate change mitigation, agriculture, food and security and COVID-19, among others.

The STAR reports that President Marcos told US Secretary of State Blinken Marcos told Blinken that the US-PH MDT is in "constant evolution,"
"We are too closely tied because of the special relationship between the US and the Philippines and the history that we share," the Philippine president adds.
