'Spaced Out' is as good as it looks
MANILA, Philippines - BoosterMedia zaps players with a fun space shooter! “Spaced Out” is a game where you control Quark, a dog in a space suit! Players get to guide Quark in his adventure to collect bolts for Dr. Atom, but it’s not that easy. Meteors and weird aliens try their best to hamper Quark’s progress and it is up to the player and his wits to steer Quark out of danger and collect the necessary bolts to continue to the next level.
First of all, “Spaced out” is graphically pleasing. The creators really went out of their way to design something smooth for a scroller. Controls come in two ways: directional pad or mouse. The controls are smooth, giving Quark a delayed yet realistic response to the player’s movement behavior.
The game’s not that difficult considering the light bombardment of baddies—asteroids and aliens, though the bosses may be threatening enough to make the player take things a little more seriously.
Personally speaking, I went out guns blazing and ended up on the “Game Over” screen, so yeah, “Spaced Out” may require a certain amount of skill... and patience.
Power ups are abundant and these keep the interest level high. I spent half an hour playing the game and it really is fun, compared to other basic space shooters.
Overall, “Spaced Out” is fun, challenging and is quite a looker on the graphics department. Don’t hesitate to download and enjoy this game.
