MANILA, Philippines — You can finally have the complete sci-fi experience... or not.

Sony announced today that it has devised a 'ghost-catching' device inspired by the movie "Ghostbusters."

The device, according to their statement released on April 1, April Fools' Day, is called the "proton pack," a product designed to capture content from a parallel dimension.

"The Proton Pack™ is equipped with a state-of-the-art, miniaturized superconducting synchrotron, which accelerates injected protons from a hydrogen plasma cell. Superconducting temperatures are maintained by a liquid helium reservoir, and an active cryocooler ensures that operational time vastly exceeds that available from a cryogen dewar alone," the statement said.

"Adaptive beam-steering technology guides the proton beam to an ergonomic wand, which doubles as a beam-halo tuning cavity to provide maximum down-range accuracy. The backpack form factor allows built-in psychokinetic grounding to the user’s spinal column, eliminating spectral noise feedback loops," it added.

Weighing 6.66 kilograms, the proton pack is a device they have developed for over 30 years. It will be available in the U.S. on July 15 this year, same month of the opening of the "Ghostbusters" movie, featuring an all-female crew.
