Ahmed will be competing with other Filipina beauties, the Philippines' own Chelsea Manalo, Victoria Vincent (New Zealand) and Christina Chalk (Great Britain), at Miss Universe 2024.
Ahmed shared in an earlier Instagram post that she placed 2nd runner-up in Miss Universe Bahrain in 2022.
"At the time, I was just taking a risk, trying to rid myself of fear. Outwardly, it may have seemed effortless, but deep down, I still doubted my potential to be a role model. Even after sharing my story and impacting others, I wasn’t convinced I could truly be her," she wrote on Instagram.
She continued working as a TV presenter, but when she chanced upon the story of Miss Universe Philippines 2023 Michelle Dee, it reignited her passion for pageantry.
It was further stoked when the Miss Universe Organization lifted the age limit and when she heard about the Miss Universe Bahrain auditions.
Ahmed has been openly advocating for single mothers on her posts. She also advocates for those who struggle with mental health.
"This journey has been about breaking free from limiting beliefs, stepping out of my comfort zone, and letting my inner strength shine through... Mexico, here we come!" she said.
The Miss Universe 2024 will be held in Mexico in November 16 (November 17, Manila time).
