MANILA, Philippines — Gold and nude outfits, plunging necklines, pants, ash-colored hair and lots of broken hearts dominated this year's ABS-CBN Ball in Shangri-La The Fort hotel, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City.

Over a hundred stars walked the red carpet, from couples and love teams to ex lovers. Many walked down solo, while others with a group of friends or with their kids in tow.

After all, apart from glitz and glamor, the night's shindig was in honor of former ABS-CBN Foundation head Gina Lopez and the children's rescue organization she founded, Bantay Bata 163.

Lopez believed that as long as there are generous people, more children can have a better future.

Bantay Bata 163 introduced the Bantay Edukasyon program in 1998 as an aftercare service for rescued children but it has since provided 6,400 scholarships all over the country. The ball has committed to support Bantay Bata’s Bantay Edukasyon program. In 2018, the ball helped re-open the Bantay Bata 163 Children’s Village.

At present, there are 39 rescued children at the Bantay Bata 163 Children's Village in Bulacan. In order to provide the children with a normal education, Bantay Bata 163 finds sponsors and donors to support their studies, a holistic grant not only covers their tuition expenses but also their school supplies, daily food and transportation allowances and other fees.

During the ball, many celebrities wore outfits inspired by Lopez, her passion for the environment, Bantay Bata, and Philippine history, art and culture. Here are the celebrities' takes on this year's theme, modern Filipiniana.
