MANILA, Philippines — This week, besides US President Donald Trump’s meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, among those that made it to the global headlines is the reported falling off of the “fake” eyebrows of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
As seen on a viral video from the world leaders’ G7 summit last weekend, one of Trudeau’s eyebrows seem to be getting displaced from the top of his eye as he speaks. The video has since become a subject of many memes, including a supposed “Eyebrow gate” scandal and a new Twitter account bearing the name “Trudeau’s Eyebrows.”
Our moment to shine! I'll bet @realDonaldTrump wishes he had fake bushy brows like us. Too bad Donald. Justin's tough tariffs will include all Canadian made eyebrows, moustaches and related waxes. Ha. Take that pic.twitter.com/NUlhLEodES

For those looking for natural-looking, longer-lasting eyebrows, actresses Kris Aquino and Maja Salvador recently gave tips during the recent launches of the makeup brands they represent.
“I really believe that for kilay to stay in place, kailangan mo ng brow mascara,” Kris said during the launch of her namesake makeup collection for Ever Bilena.
When choosing the right eyebrow shaping or grooming tool, “You don’t need a million things,” said Kris.
According to her, she co-designed her own retractable gel liner and mascara duo because the traditional eyebrow pencil is so hard and “not fun” to use. She said an eyebrow mascara brush should be small, so it would be easier to control.

For Maja, practice makes perfect eyebrows.
“’Pag wala akong trabaho, ‘yung makeup ng mommy ko noon, nagprapractice ako sa salamin. Kinikilayan ko sarili ko. Parang kung ano ‘yung napapanood ko sa K-pop artists, ginagaya ko,” she shared during her launch as new ambassador of makeup brand Blair.
According to her, at first, the eyebrows she drew looked like leech in thickness. But through guidance from makeup artists, she eventually got the right stroke that suits her face. — Videos by Kat Leandicho
