Miss Universe 2017 Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters wears Rajo Laurel in charity gala
MANILA, Philippines — During the Front Row Universe Charity Gala Fashion Show at Solaire Hotel and Casino on Thursday night, Miss Universe 2017 Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters proudly wore an immaculate pearly white gown by Filipino celebrity fashion designer Rajo Laurel.
In her Instagram post, Demi-Leigh proudly showed her Rajo Laurel piece together with the hashtag #itsmorefuninthephilippines.
The fashion show was among the highlights of a dinner for the benefit of Hope 4 Change, an international humanitarian organization that focuses on student sponsorship, medical outreach, and well-drilling for the benefit for children in poor countries all over the globe.
In the fashion show, Nel-Peters was joined by other Miss Universe queens like Miss Universe 2016 Iris Mittenaere, who wore a princess-like white gown; Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach who wore black; Miss Universe top 10 finalist Rachel Peters in a sexy maroon number; and other Miss Universe candidates and Philippine representatives to the pageant.
In an Instagram post, Rajo said he is "so thrilled to see the reigning Miss Universe" wear his design.
"A dream come true! It’s like my little boy fantasies comes to life. Still on a high from dressing up Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters!" Rajo said in another post.
According to Laurel, his design is a modern version of the Roman goddess Venus.
"I imagined Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters as a Modern Venus descending from the heavens. She's truly a queen!" he exclaimed.
