Going all-out with Unilever’s Great Hair Blow Out
We can’t deny that many of us sacrifice a good chunk of our day just making sure we’re not only feeling our best, but looking our best, too. All the time we invest in getting ready, we spend not just for a little boost of self-confidence but, also, for the occasional compliment. But now, there’s an added incentive for all our efforts, something even better than being told that you’re rocking that new high-end lipstick you bought last week.
Starting this month, Unilever’s popular hair brands Sunsilk, Dove, Vaseline and Clear are teaming up with top companies in the country such as Ford, Smart, Cebu Pacific, Samsung, McDonald’s, David’s Salon, Cebuana Lhuillier, and National Book Store to kick off the Unilever Great Hair Blow Out promo.
As a way to give back to its customers, Unilever is giving away prizes with every purchase of especially marked Dove, Sunsilk, Vaseline, and Clear bottles and sachets. Just make sure to look out for the Great Hair Blow Out sticker. The prizes up for grabs are two Ford Fiestas, 56 international and domestic flights from Cebu Pacific, 25 Samsung tablets and phones, Smart pre-paid load (that can be redeemed at any Cebuana Lhuillier outlet nationwide), special discounts at National Book Store and David’s Salon, and a free upsize option at McDonald’s.
“Unilever is the leading hair care company in the Philippinesâ€, says Dorothy Dee Ching, Unilever Philippines marketing director for hair care. “This is our way of rewarding consumers for their continued patronage.â€
Unilever is also working towards a good cause as it launches the “Unilever Sustainable Living Plan†campaign alongside the promo. With its sachet recovery program, Unilever aims to collect 18 million empty sachets that will be shredded to create cement pavers and hollow blocks to be donated to select communities all over the country — and any factory waste will turn other sachets into recycled novelty items such as bags and household decorations.
“We want to grow sustainably,†says Unilever Philippines VP for corporate affairs Chito Macapagal. “The only way we can actually grow sustainably is if we try to be part of the solution in helping address some of the social development challenges we have, particularly environmental challenges. Unilever is committed to three things: to help more than a billion lives and make them better, to half our environmental footprint, and to source locally 100-percent.â€
I don’t know about you, but winning a prize while helping out both the environment and local communities at the same time? It’s safe to say I may just be hoarding some hair care products very soon.
The Unilever Great Hair Blow Out promo runs until Dec. 31.
