MANILA, Philippines — Jed Madela is slowly recovering after losing his voice in December.
Jed explained in an interview in "Aquino & Abunda Tonight" on Friday that his voice was over used and possibly made worse by viral infections during the cooler season.
"The entire November kasi was really busy and feeling ko superman ako, so nag-everyday ako and then it just gave up," he recalled. "Nawala na lang siya. After ng taping [ng Kris TV] we went straight to Aliw Awards, I had to perform."
Yet he was not able to perform because his voice was gone. "That was very frustrating, that night. Kasi in-award ako ng 'Entertainer of the Year' but I couldn't sing, I couldn't entertain," he said.
So for the whole month of December, Jed had to rest his voice and even missed Lani Misalucha's "La Nightingale" concert last December 6.
Although he had to rest his voice for another month, Jed has started to work on his album set to be released this year.
"Sobrang excited ako sa new album na 'to kasi it's really what people want from me, it's the voice," he said about the album.
