Eraserheads releases 2 new songs after more than a decade
MANILA, Philippines – Twelve years after being disbanded, Eraserheads is finally set to give the fans another ear-gasmic music experience. Esquire Philippines announced via their Facebook page that they will be featuring the iconic band on their September 2014 travel issue.
The last time
In 2002, the band, composed of Ely Buendia, Raimund Marasigan, Buddy Zabala and Marcus Adoro called it quits, after Ely Buendia, the front man of the band left the group. All the fans thought that the band has permanently unplugged their music, but in 2008, they reunited for a concert, which unfortunately was cut short because of Buendia's health issues. On the following year, they played together at the Mall of Asia grounds for their ‘The Final Set’ concert. Since then, they haven’t been heard in the Philippines, although they went on international reunion tours from 2012 onwards.
Unfading popularity
Despite being silent for a couple of years, the Eraserheads proved that they are still buzzworthy and widely recognized. Just last week, Spotify Philippines announced that Eraserheads secured the top spot as the most streamed OPM artists on the music streaming service. Their songs ‘Pare Ko,’ ‘Ang Huling El Bimbo,’ and ‘Ligaya,’ are among the most played during the service's first months of operations in the country from July to August.
Two new songs and exclusive photos available on September
The songs “Sabado” and “1995” will be issued by Esquire Philippines in CD format, which can only be availed through the September issue of the magazine. Aside from that, it will also be packed with photos and other accounts during Eraserheads’ London tour, with a proper cover photo of the band on renowned Abbey Road.
Meanwhile, Raymund Marasigan shared the news by posting a photo via Instagram of the band while rehearsing.
