'Priscilla' opening in Philippine cinemas on January 31
MANILA, Philippines — CreaZion Studios Inc. is bringing biographical drama film "Priscilla," the titular wife of the iconic rock star Elvis Presley, to Philippine cinemas on January 31.
Written and directed by the award-winning Sofia Coppola, this visually-stunning film showcases an outstanding cast, with Cailee Spaeny portraying Priscilla Beaulieu and Jacob Elordi embodying Elvis.
Joining the pair is Dagmara Dominczyk, who takes on the role of Ann Beaulieu, Priscilla's mother. The film itself is based on Priscilla's own memoir "Elvis and Me."
Global streamer Mubi distributes “Priscilla” in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Germany, the Benelux, Turkey, and Latin America.
"We brought 'Priscilla' to the Philippines because we know that Filipinos are big fans of Elvis and Priscilla," expressed CreaZion Studios Executive Vice President Real Florido.
"And this is a great love story, a heart-breaking one, that I think most of us have been craving to know about," he added. "Plus, of course, the movie is made beautifully and tastefully by no other than Sofia Coppola. So this is definitely a must-see."
Cailee has garnered praise for her portrayal of Priscilla, earning the Volpi Cup for Best Actress at the Venice Film Festival where the film was also nominated for the prestigious Golden Lion.
Her remarkable performance has also led to nominations at the Gotham Independent Film Awards 2023, Satellite Awards 2024, and Golden Globe Awards 2024.
Jacob meanwhile is up for the BAFTA's public-voted EE Rising Star Award because of his Elvis portrayal and starring in "Saltburn" where he is also nominated for Best Supporting Actor. —Video from A24 YouTube channel
