Liza Soberano's Hollywood film 'Lisa Frankenstein' announces February 2024 release date
MANILA, Philippines — Film studio Focus Features has announced its upcoming horror-comedy "Lisa Frankenstein," starring Liza Soberano in her first Hollywood movie, will be out in cinemas the week before Valentine's Day next year.
"Lisa Frankenstein" is currently set for a February 9 release in the United States, meaning the Philippines could possibly get the film exactly a week before Valentine's Day through international distributor Universal Pictures.
The film follows a misunderstood teenager played by Marvel and "Big Little Lies" actress Kathryn Newton and her high school crush portrayed by "Riverdale" star Cole Sprouse, who happens to be a handsome Victorian corpse.
"After a set of playfully horrific circumstances bring him back to life, the two embark on a murderous journey to find love, happiness… and a few missing body parts along the way," the movie's synopsis goes.

A teaser for the film shows Kathryn's character ramping up the power of a tanning machine, which awakens the deceased character of Cole, who bumps his head right after awakening.
The Oscar-winning writer of "Juno," Diablo Cody, wrote the script under the helm of Zelda Williams in her feature directorial debut.
Zelda is the only daughter of the late comedian Robin Williams with his ex-wife Marsha Garces, a film producer of Filipino descent (Marsha's father was born in Bohol, her mother is Finnish).
Also starring in "Lisa Frankenstein" with Liza, Kathryn and Cole are Henry Eikenberry, Joe Chrest and Carla Gugino.
