New trailer released: Angelina Jolie in 'Maleficent'

Angelina Jolie stars in the title role as villain in new family film Maleficent, the trailer for which was recently unveiled by Walt Disney Pictures.

The trailer features Lana Del Rey's lingering voice in a unique, creepy rendition of "Once Upon a Dream."

The film sets to disclose "the truth" behind the classic story of Sleeping Beauty, a 1959 hit animated film. The villain's motives are explored in Maleficent as the elements of her betrayal turning her heart to stone are revealed.

The film stars Angelina Jolie as Maleficent, Sharlto Copley, Elle Fanning, Sam Riley, Imelda Staunton, Miranda Richardson, Juno Temple and Lesley Manville.

Opening across the Philippines on May 28, 2014, “Maleficient” is distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures International through Columbia Pictures.
