‘Robocop’ is back!

MANILA, Philippines- “Robocop” is back and this year's version is digitally re-mastered to fit the IMAX type of viewing.

Based on the 1987 motion picture, “Robocop” is a story about Alex Murphy, played by Joel Kinnaman, who was critically injured due to an explosion. After the incident, he became the best candidate for the new robot technology that OmniCorp has developed. Though the test has been successful for Alex, his human emotions seem to be in conflict to the design of the robot.

The film also stars Gary Oldman, Michael Keaton, Samuel L. Jackson, Abbie Cornish, Jackie Earle Haley, Michael K. Williams, Jay Baruchel, Jennifer Ehle, and Marianne Jean-Baptiste.

Rory Bruer, president of Worldwide Distribution for Sony Picture said that “IMAX and Robocop are the perfect match. What a great way to see this visceral, action-packed film.”

IMAX cinemas are located at SM Mall of Asia, SM North EDSA, SM Southmall, SM Cebu, SM Clark, SM Lanang and SM Aura.

“Robocop,” directed by Jose Padilha will be in Philippine cinemas February 5.
