Blackpink's Jennie to play Italian farmhouse owner in Korean variety show

MANILA, Philippines — Singer Jennie Kim of the Korean girl group Blackpink has joined the cast of the upcoming Disney+ variety show "My Name is Gabriel."

Korean network JTBC announced Jennie's participation in the show with a pastel poster that showed her with the nametag "My name is Maria."

The social media accounts of Disney+ Philippines posted the same poster, confirming Jennie is indeed part of the show.

"What if global star Jennie lived someone else's life?" the caption of the post read. "Catch 'My Name is Gabriel' on Disney+ Philippines to see her as Maria in Italy!"

"My Name is Gabriel" sees its cast members experiencing another person's life in a different part of the world for 72 hours or three days.

Jennie will supposedly play Maria, a farmhouse bed and breakfast owner in an Italian village near Rome.

Other members of the cast include Park Bo-gum, Ji Chang-wook, Park Myung-soo, Yeom Hye-ran, Hong Jin-kyung, Kim Jin-young or Dex, and Gabee.
