Want to study with oppa? South Korea offers scholarships for Filipinos
MANILA, Philippines — Those who have been dreaming of going to South Korea may not just be able to spend the customary three-days, two-nights sojourn in the land of Hallyu and dreamy oppas.
There's a scholarship program that allows you to do these and still more — experience the culture and Korean brand of education.
Thirteen (13) Filipinos will be granted with a scholarship by the Global Korea Scholarship, ran by the South Korean government.
Filipinos aged 40 and below who are holders of a bachelor's or master's degree qualify for the program.
Apart from the tuition, the scholarship covers airfare, a settlement allowance worth 200,000 KRW; a monthly allowance of 1,000,000 KRW for master's and doctoral degrees; a medical insurance worth 20,000 KRW; and a language learning fee worth 800,000 KRW.
Chung Ang University, Dongguk University, Duksung Women's University, Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, Hanyang University, KAIST, Korea University, Seoul National University, Sungkyunkwan University and Yonsei University are among the partner universities for the scholarship program.
Successful candidates will be announced in three rounds in April, May and June, while the semester is expected to start on September 1.
