Friends in love.

The romance between Nadia Bianca Nicolette Ong and Rhinn Paul Piczon blossomed in the office of Procter & Gamble PMC in Singapore where she was finance manager of Pringles and he, the brand manager of the same product. It was the beautiful meeting of Green and Blue, Nadia having graduated with a Communication Arts & Finance degree from De La Salle University and Rhinn, M.A. Management Engineering from Ateneo.

Because they moved within a small circle of Filipinos at the office, Nadia and Rhinn inevitably gravitated toward each other. “We would go out in a group,” related Nadia, “until we ended up going out, just the two of us.”

After going steady for three years, the sweethearts got married at the Santuario de San Jose (in East Greenhills, Mandaluyong City) last Nov. 29; reception followed at the Isla Ballroom of EDSA Shangri-La. Nadia comes from a respected, influential and politically-prominent clan in Northern Samar. Her parents are Northern Samar former Rep. and current Gov. Jose L. Ong Jr. and his wife Desiree and his cousin, Edwin Ongchuan, is the incumbent representative of the same province where Edwin’s father, Emil Ong, served three terms of the same position. Nadia’s uncle, Hector Ong, is back as Mayor of Laoang, Northern Samar, after finishing three terms, succeeded by his wife Madeleine.

Rhinn is the son of Engr. Ruben Piczon and his wife Evelyn. After 10 years with Procter & Gamble PMC, he was recruited by Samsung Philippines two years ago and has relocated to Manila while Nadia (with the company for six years now) remains in Singapore. That started a long-distance romance with the lovers alternating in spending weekends together either in Manila or in Singapore.
