Rock concert vs psoriasis

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - PsorPhil, a non-stock, non-profit organization that represents the interests of 1.9 million Filipinos believed to be suffering in silence with psoriasis, will hold a concert tomorrow, Aug. 20, at the Baypark Area, Service Road of Roxas Blvd., billed as PsorRocks. Bands featured are CallaLily, Slapshock, 6cyclemind, Cueshe, Even, General Luna, Grace Note, Kenyo, Up Darma Down and The Chongkeys.

PsorRocks aims to raise funds to sustain their different projects and programs for the improvement of the quality of life of people affected by this non-contagious disease.

Psophil’s advocacy has brought the public to the most remote parts of the country trying to educate the people on the grassroots level about this condition. Their hope is that one day, all psoriasis sufferers can live normally without the fear of being judged and discriminated.

Johan Logtu, vocals of the The Chongkeys band said, “Noong elementary ako, tinutukso ‘yung classmate ko dahil d’yan. Lagi kaming magkalaro nun pero hindi naman ako nahahawa. Kaya sana maiba na ang pananaw ng mga kapatid natin, hindi po nakakahawa yung ganung sakit. That’s why we support the PSOR event to raise funds for their programs.”

Ticket prices are P100 (general admission) and P1,000 (VIP with two-hour open bar / drink-all-you-can and raffle).

For your support or donations to sustain PsorPhil programs and projects, contact 889-3596 or email [email protected]. To learn more of their advocacy, visit www.psorphil.org.
