4 cops wounded in Quezon ‘shootout’

MANILA, Philippines — Four police officers were wounded in an alleged shootout with three wanted men in Guinayangan, Quezon on Friday.
The officers – Chief M/Sgts. Crisologo Castillo and Domingo Enraca Jr., Executive M/Sgt. Alex Maigue and S/Sgt. John James Red – were taken to a hospital for treatment.
Reports said the lawmen were about to arrest Roy Armillo, Richard Rabe and Magno Rivera in Barangay Manggagawa when the suspects allegedly drew their guns, triggerring a shootout.
Armillo and Rabe were subjects of an arrest warrant issued by a court in Ligao City, Albay for murder. No bail was recommended for their temporary liberty.
A manhunt was launched for the suspects, according to Maj. Julio Dogta, chief of the Guinayangan police.
